Traditional Diamond Jhumka Earrings Design Sketch – South Indian Inspired Jewellery

Jhumka earrings are one of the most iconic elements of traditional Indian jewellery specially south part of india. From temple jewellery collections of South India to contemporary bridal sets across India, diamond jhumka earrings continue to remain a timeless design choice.

In this post on Carat Canvas, I am sharing two hand-drawn diamond jhumka earrings design sketches inspired by traditional South Indian jewellery aesthetics. These designs explore classic dome-shaped jhumka structures combined with refined diamond settings and emerald and blue sapphire accent .

The first design features a detailed jhumka dome structure decorated with intricate diamond patterns and emerald-tone gemstone highlights. The layered ornamental detailing reflects the influence of traditional South Indian temple jewellery while maintaining a balanced and elegant composition suitable for modern diamond jewellery collections.

The second design presents a more ornamental interpretation with a circular diamond top motif inspired by peacock and floral patterns. The design is complemented by gemstone accents and a pearl drop element, giving the piece a graceful movement often seen in bridal and festive jewellery.

Diamond jhumka earrings are highly popular in South Indian jewellery markets such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Secunderabad and Coimbatore, where traditional design is still deeply valued. At the same time, such designs are also appreciated across Pan-India bridal jewellery collections and among the global Indian diaspora looking for heritage-inspired jewellery pieces.

Jhumka Styling and Jewellery Trends

Diamond jhumka earrings continue to be a timeless jewellery style admired across India, especially in South Indian bridal and festive collections. Celebrities and designers often revive traditional jhumka designs by combining classic motifs with modern diamond settings.
